To promote the finale of the second season, the production team is also printing and distributing flyers with the latest visual in various locations throughout Tokyo.

The returning staff for season two includes Space Neko Company’s Jun Aoki as series director and screenwriter, Tooru Kanagae (When Will Ayumu Make His Move?) as sound director, Yasumasa Koyama (Princess Connect! Re:Dive Season 2) as sound effects director, and BUSTED ROSE’s Gin (My Isekai Life) as music composer. Space Neko Company and Kamikaze Douga are handling the second season’s animation production.

The first season of Pop Team Epic aired in 2018, while a “remix version” called POP TEAM EPIC REPEAT was broadcast in 2021, along with two television specials. The main characters Popuko and Pipimi are voiced by an ensemble of rotating male and female voice actors.

The anime series is based on the manga by Bukubu Ookawa, which was first published on August 29, 2014. It is currently serialized in Takeshobo’s Manga Life Win magazine and has released five tankoubon volumes as of December 2021.

Crunchyroll is currently streaming Pop Team Epic and describes the anime as:

Crude, rude, and a little…cute? Get ready for the larger-than-life attitude of Popuko and Pipimi, the small and tall stars of Pop Team Epic! Based off the bizarre four-panel webcomic by Bukubu Okawa comes a comedy that’ll throw you off with its out-there jokes and intense absurdity. You think you’re ready for these girls? Think again, F#%**er!
