Romantic Killer Gets New Trailer, More Cast Info

Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming Romantic Killer anime, providing another look at the show’s premise and comedy as well as a preview of the protagonist’s love interests. A key visual was also released.

The cast for those love interests includes Yuuichirou Umehara as the cool ikemen Tsukasa Kazuki, Gakuto Kajiwara as the childhood friend and sportsman Junta Hayami, and Natsuki Hanae as the rich and prince-like tsundere Hijiri Koganei.

Other newly announced cast members include Kenjiro Tsuda as Hijiri’s butler Tsuchiya, Manaka Iwami as protagonist Anzu’s best friend Saki, and Hiro Shimono as Tsukasa’s trusted classmate Makoto.

Romantic Killer is set to be released on Netflix on October 27. It is based on the manga by Wataru Momose, which is serialized on Shonen Jump+ and published under the Jump Comics label. It began in 2019 and has four digital tankoubon volumes as of September 2020. The physical versions of the second to fourth volumes will be released on October 4, 2022.

The English-translated version of the manga, licensed by Viz Media, is also set to release its first volume on October 4. Viz describes the plot as:

High schooler Anzu Hoshino has a great life. Every day she plays video games, pigs out on snacks, and pets her beloved cat. But this blissful existence is turned into a confusing mess when a magical creature transports her to an altered reality bereft of her favorite things. Now she’s stuck with hot guys instead! How can she possibly survive in such an awful world?!

The anime’s staff includes Kazuya Ichikawa (The World Ends with You: The Animation) as director, Sayuri Ooba (I Don’t Like You at All, Big Brother!!) as series composer, Arisa Matsuura (The World Ends with You: The Animation) as character designer, and Ryou Kawasaki (To Your Eternity) and Kono Tomoyuki as music composers. domerica is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the previously revealed cast members include Rie Takahashi as Anzu Hoshino and Mikako Komatsu as Riri the wizard.
