Romantic Killer Anime To Drop on Netflix on October 27 (Updated)

Update: Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the Romantic Killer anime adaptation. The Netflix Japan Anime Twitter account revealed that Rie Takahashi and Mikako Komatsu are playing the main roles of Anzu Hoshino and Riri the wizard respectively, while YURIKA is performing the main theme song “ROMA☆KiRA.”

Additionally, a commemoration illustration was uploaded by the manga’s author Momose on Twitter.

Comic Natalie reported that the staff includes Kazuya Ichikawa (The World Ends with You: The Animation) as director, Sayuri Ooba (I Don’t Like You at All, Big Brother!!) as series composer, Arisa Matsuura (The World Ends with You: The Animation) as character designer, and Ryou Kawasaki (To Your Eternity) and Kono Tomoyuki as music composers. domerica is the animation production company.

Original: An anime adaptation of the Romantic Killer manga is set to release on Netflix on October 27 this year, the manga’s Shonen Jump+ page description has revealed. 

The information was also tweeted by Senyu mangaka Robinson Haruhara, with the Shonen Jump+ Twitter account retweeting them.

Romantic Killer is drawn by Wataru Momose and published under the Jump Comics label. It began in 2019 and has four digital tankoubon volumes as of September 2020. The physical versions of the second to fourth volumes will be released on October 4, 2022.

The English-translated version of the manga, licensed by Viz Media, is also set to release its first volume on October 4 as well. Viz describes the plot as:

High schooler Anzu Hoshino has a great life. Every day she plays video games, pigs out on snacks, and pets her beloved cat. But this blissful existence is turned into a confusing mess when a magical creature transports her to an altered reality bereft of her favorite things. Now she’s stuck with hot guys instead! How can she possibly survive in such an awful world?!
