Miko Yotsuya from the horror-comedy Mieruko-Chan has won Girl of the Year for the 8th Anime Trending Awards.
Her ATA win caps off her incredible run from the Fall 2021 season, which saw her at the top of Anime Trending’s Female Character Charts for seven consecutive weeks – the second longest winning streak for any female characters, just behind Shirayuki (Snow White with the Red Hair) with nine weeks, and tied with Karen Kohiruimaki (Sword Art Online GGO Alternative).
Miko Yotsuya is voiced by Sora Amamiya, who also won this year’s Best Voice Acting Performance by a Female Seiyuu. Additionally, Mieruko-chan won the award for Best Supernatural Anime of the Year and was nominated for Anime of the Year. The show also scored a nomination for Opening Theme Song of the Year with “Mienai kara ne?” also performed by Amamiya.
