The upcoming second season of The Dangers in My Heart anime adaptation has received a main visual ahead of its January 2024 premiere.
The show’s lead romantic pair Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada are expectedly in the forefront of the visual, but also of interest are the two new faces at the very back.
The Dangers In My Heart (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu) is based on the Akita Shoten-published romantic comedy manga by Norio Sakurai, which came first in AnimeJapan’s fourth Manga We Want to See Animated ranking. The manga, which is currently serialized on Manga Cross and is published under the Shonen Champion Comics label, began in 2018 and has eight tankoubon volumes as of March 2023.
Seven Seas Entertainment describes the manga as:
Quirky courtship awaits in this comedy nominated for the 2020 Manga Taisho Award!
Kyotaro Ichikawa, a boy barely clinging to the bottom rung of his school’s social ladder, secretly believes he’s the tortured lead in some psychological thriller. He spends his days dreaming up ways to disrupt his classmates’ peaceful lives and pining after Anna Yamada, the class idol. But Kyotaro’s not nearly the troubled teen he pretends to be…and it turns out Anna’s a bit odd herself!
Hiroaki Akagi (Teasing Master Takagi-san) directed the first season with Jukki Hanada (Love Live! Superstar!!) as series composer and script writer, Masato Katsumata (The Quintessential Quintuplets) as character designer, and Kensuke Ushio (Chainsaw Man) as music composer.
