Souichirou Yamamoto‘s Teasing Master Takagi-san manga will publish its final chapter in the November 2023 issue of Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday, which goes on sale in Japan on October 12. The announcement was made in the newly published September 2023 issue of the magazine (via Comic Natalie).

Teasing Master Takagi-san debuted 10 years ago in 2013 in Monthly Shonen Sunday Mini, with its serialization in the main Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine beginning in 2016. The teenage romantic comedy follows the relationship between middle schooler Nishikata and his classmate Takagi-san, who constantly teases him. Yen Press publishes the manga in English.

A TV anime series produced by Shin-Ei Animation began airing in 2018 and has inspired another two seasons, which premiered in 2019 and 2022, and 2022’s Teasing Master Takagisan the Movie. Akagi Hiroaki directed all of the entries with Aya Takano as character designer. Michiko Yokote was in charge of the series composition for Season 1, while the other two seasons lacked the series composer credit. The movie saw one of the Season 2 and 3 scriptwriters, Hiroko Fukuda, handling the movie’s story composition.

In 2017, fans were treated to the sight of a married Nishikata and Takagi with Karakai Jouzu no (Moto) Takagi-san (Teasing Master [Former] Takagi-san), a spin-off series that also featured the duo’s young daughter. Eight tankoubon volumes have been published as of March 2023. Another manga spin-off, titled Koi ni Koisuru Yukari-chan (Lover of Love Yukari-chan), ran from 2017 to 2020.

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
