Fate/Samurai Remnant Releases CloverWorks-Produced Opening Movie

KOEI TECMO has released the CloverWorks-produced opening animation for the upcoming Fate/Samurai Remnant video game, which is launching globally on September 29 (September 28 in Japan) for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.

The opening movie is directed by animator Nakaya Onsen, who storyboarded and directed (among other roles) the 18th episode of Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia. Onsen’s other non-animation credits include co-designing the characters for Fate/Grand Order The Movie Divine Realm of the Round Table: Camelot Wandering; Agateram and Paladin; Agateram and co-designing the cursed spirit designs for Jujutsu Kaisen 0

The game’s theme song is “Zanya Gensou feat.LICCA, Spiral Radder.” 

Fate/Samurai Remnant is an action-RPG that sees seven Masters and seven Servants battling in Edo Japan as part of the Waxing Moon Ritual, which offers the wish-granting Waxing Moon’s Vessel as the prize. There are also masterless Rogue Servants. The main characters are Iori Miyamoto, a ronin who trained under Musashi Miyamoto, and his Saber-class Servant (Hibiku Yamamura).

Kinoko Nasu is supervising the game with Rei Wataru as character designer and Hikaru Sakurai and Yuichirou Higashide as story supervisors. KOEI TECMO GAMES is both the publisher and developer, while Aniplex is credited with production cooperation.
