A new main visual, highlighting protagonist Senku Ishigami, has been released for the upcoming Dr. STONE New World anime series. This is the third anime season for the Dr. STONE anime series, which will be broadcasted as a split 2-cour show, with the first half premiering on April 6, 2023.
The anime production team also announced the ending theme song for the first cour of the third season, which is “Where Do We Go?,” performed by Japanese rock band OKAMOTO’S. Meanwhile, the opening theme will be “Wasuregataki” by singer-actor Huwie Ishizaki.
Returning production staff from previous seasons include Shuuhei Matsushita as director, Yuuichirou Kido as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Mayuko Iwasa as character designer, Yoshio Mizumura for design works, Hiroyuki Horiuchi as main animator, Shunichirou Yoshihara as art director, Fuzako Nakao as color designer, Takeshi Kuzuyama as photography director, and Tatsuya Katou, Hiroaki Tsutsumi, and YUKI KANESAKA as music composers. Dr. STONE is based on the manga series written by Riichirou Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. It ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from March 6, 2017 to March 7, 2022. Twenty-six total tankoubon volumes were released under the Jump Comics label. A spin-off manga titled Dr. STONE Reboot: Byakuya, also by Inagaki and Boichi, ran in the same magazine from October 28, 2019 to December 23, 2019.

With the Stone Wars over, the former members of Tsukasa’s Empire of Might join forces with the Kingdom of Science to build a ship capable of sailing across open ocean to seek answers on the mystery of the global petrification.
