pixiv has announced its “Hololive Creator Contest 2023” in collaboration with the VTuber agency. The event boasts as being hololive’s largest-ever creator-oriented projects and is calling for writing and fanart submission featuring members across the following branches: hololive, hololive English, and hololive Indonesia.
Applications are open for three categories: swimsuit design, general illustration (fanart), and scenario writing. Fans worldwide are able to participate in the contest.
The submissions are open from January 13 to February 2, 11:59 PM JST. Users will have to submit their work via pixiv to be in the running, using the tags “hololive_swimsuit,” “hololive_art,” and “hololive_story,” respectively.
For the swimsuit design category, a template has been provided which participants will need to use to illustrate their swimsuit.

The scenario category asks fans to write a voice script involving up to four hololive talents. The theme for the category is summer. The format they have provided is “novel,” with submissions between 500-2500 English words, as calculated and displayed on pixiv.
First place in the swimsuit category grants the winner a trophy, 200,000 yen (which pixiv estimates as approximately US$1500), 3D implementation of your design (which may be altered), and original signed goods. Five runner-up “Awards of Excellence” will receive original signed goods.
The winner for the general illustration category will receive a trophy, 200,000 yen (which pixiv estimates as approximately US$1500), your illustration used on a Weiβ Schwarz promotional card, original signed goods, and your work printed in pixiv’s illustration collection “Hololive × pixiv FANART COLLECTION (working title)” along with a free copy of the book. Fifteen runner-up “Award of Excellence” will receive original signed goods, and their work printed in the fanart collection alongside a free copy. There is an additional “pixiv Prize,” which will award winners with their work printed in the fanart collection, alongside a free copy and 2000 yen in e-money (which pixiv estimates as approximately US$15).
According to the submission rules, at the time of winning, copyrights for first prize in both the swimsuit design category and illustration category will be transferred to COVER Corp., who will also have the rights to use both the first prize and award excellence submissions.
First place in the scenario category will received a trophy, 100,000 yen (which pixiv estimates as approximately US$750), your scenario produced as a hololive talent voice drama (which will later by sold by COVER corp.), and original signed goods. Five runner-ups will have a possibility of their scenario produced as a voice drama, alongside signed goods.
According to the submission rules, at the time of winning, copyrights for first prize and awards of excellence will be transferred to COVER corp.
Contestants are free to submit more than one piece of work per category, however are advised not to make repeated postings of the same artwork.
