Crayon Shinchan the Movie: The Tornado Legend of Ninja Mononoke is the 30th movie in the Crayon Shin-chan series, which includes a still-ongoing TV series that began in 1992 and has over 1000 episodes. The previous movie was 2021’s Crayon Shinchan the Movie: School Mystery! The Splendid Tenkasu Academy!.

The new film is described as:

One day, a woman named Chiyome Hesogakure with a child named Chinzō visits the Noharafamily and claims that she is the real mother of Shinnosuke and takes him away to a Ninja Village. In the Ninja Village, the Hesogakure family has been protecting “the earth’s navel” by blocking it with a pure gold stopper using the “Mononoke technique” that has been passed down from generation. If it comes off, the earth will wither, the rotation will stop, and the “tomorrow” of the world will be lost! It is up to Shinnosuke to reveal the mystery of his birth and protect the future of the earth and the “tomorrow” of his family.

The movie is directed by Masakazu Hashimoto (Appare-Ranman!, Crayon Shinchan: Honeymoon Hurricane ~The Lost Hiroshi~) and written by Kimiko Ueno (Uchitama?! Have you seen my Tama?, Crayon Shin-chan Gaiden: Kazokuzure Ookami) and Hashimoto. Shin-Ei Animation is the animation production studio.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Yumiko Kobayashi as Shinnosuke Nohara, Miki Narahashi as Misae Nohara, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Hiroshi Nohara, Satomi Koorogi as Himawari Nohara, Rina Kawaei as Chiyome Hesogakure, Ayahi Takagaki as Chinzo Hesogakure, and Natsuki Hanae as Gomaemon Hesogakure.

Crayon Shin-chan began in 1990 as a manga by the late Yoshito Usui. The Futabasha-published manga ran until 2010 with 50 volumes.
