Dr. STONE to Stream on Crunchyroll this July 2019

Science Fiction TV Anime Series Coming This Summer

Crunchyroll announced today it will be simulcasting Weekly Shonen Jump’s Dr. STONE TV anime this summer season. Slated for July 2019, the series will be animated by TMS Studio.

The cast includes many recognizable voice actors including:

    • Senku Ishigami by Yūsuke Kobayashi (Subaru Natsuki in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World)
    • Taiju Ōki by Makoto Furukawa (Saitama in One Punch Man)  
    • Yuzuriha Ogawa by Kana Ichinose (Ichigo in DARLING in the FRANXX)
    • Tsukasa Shishiou by Yuuichi Nakamura (Bruno Bucciarati in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind)

Shinya Iino is directing the series and series composition by Yuichiro Kido. Music will be composed by Tatsuya Kato (Food Wars!, Revue Starlight, Free!), Hiroaki Tsutsumi, and Yuki Kanesaka.

Originally written by Riichio Inagaki and illustration by Boichi, the manga won the 64th Shogakukan Manga Award under the shonen category.

Several thousand years after a mysterious phenomenon that turns all of humanity to stone, the extraordinarily intelligent, science-driven boy, Senku Ishigami, awakens.

Facing a world of stone and the total collapse of civilization, Senku makes up his mind to use science to rebuild the world. Starting with his super strong childhood friend Taiju Oki, who awakened at the same time, they will begin to rebuild civilization from nothing…
