Kyoto Animation’s YouTube channel released a new preview for Violet Evergarden. Originally written by Kana Akatsuki, the light novel adaption is scheduled for January 2018. During Anime Expo 2017, the world premiere of the first episode received strong first impressions thanks to its visually stunning animation.

“There was one unforgettable phrase Violet Evergarden heard in the battlefield. That phrase told her she was more valuable than anyone else.
Created as a humanoid weapon for warfare, Violet Evergarden only knew how to serve and follow orders. Yet as society enters a post-war era, she struggles to find a new life as a civilian . While trying to find meaning for herself, she tries to search for the meaning of that phrase.”
Netflix recently announced its global streaming rights for Violet Evergarden. Netflix Japan will simulcast the anime in January 2018 and eventually release the anime in Spring 2018 for the rest of the world.
