“Wonder sea breeze” Performance from Yohane the Parhelion Anime Released

The Love Live! YouTube channel has released the music performance sequence from the currently airing Yohane the Parhelion: Sunshine in the Mirror anime’s eighth episode, which features the insert song “Wonder sea breeze.”

The performance sequence, which has Yohane and her friends singing and dancing in a sparkling underwater environment, is storyboarded by the anime’s CG director Gou Kurosaki and directed by Koutarou Matsunaga (Love Live! Superstar!! Season 2 assistant unit director).

“Wonder sea breeze” will go on sale on September 27. The song features the voices of Aika Kobayashi (as Yohane), Kanako Takatsuki (as Hanamaru), Arisa Komiya (as Dia), Ai Furihata (as Ruby), Anju Inami (as Chika), Shuka Saitou (as You), Nanaka Suwa (as Kanan), Rikako Aida (as Rico), and Aina Suzuki (as Mari).

Yohane the Parhelion: Sunshine in the Mirror is a fantasy spin-off of Love Live! Sunshine!!, inspired by a series of illustrations. The main character’s name is inspired by the Yohane persona of Love Live! Sunshine!!‘s chuunibyou character Yoshiko Tsushima. The illustrations started in 2020, while a KADOKAWA-published, Kouta Matsuda-illustrated manga titled Genjitsu no Yohane -Unpolarized Reflexion- began serialization in 2022.

This young fortune teller is desperate to escape her dreary small-town life. With dreams of making it big as a singer in Tokyo, Yohane finally makes the move. Unfortunately, she fails every audition and is forced to move back to her rural seaside home. But little does she know that it’s here where she embarks on a magical journey to discover the song within herself.

The show is directed by Asami Nakatani (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Season 2 #7 dance part director and storyboarder) with Toshiya Oono (Shadows House) as series composer, Yumiko Yamamoto (Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld co-character designer) as character designer, and Tatsuya Katou (Ensemble Stars!! Road to Show!!) as music composer. Bandai Namco Filmsworks’ SUNRISE brand is credited with the animation production.
