The Black Clover anime series ran from 2017 to 2021 with Tatsuya Yoshihara (Chainsaw Man action director) directing the first half and serving as chief director for the second.

Tabata’s original manga was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on February 16, 2015 under the Jump Comics label. Thirty-four tankoubon volumes have been released as of March 2023. The manga has also inspired a multimedia franchise that includes various spin-off manga, light novels, and video games.
