A second main trailer has been released for Netflix’s anime film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. The film was delayed from its initial March 2023 premiere, but is now scheduled to be released on Netflix on June 16, 2023.
The new trailer highlights Asta and his friends, facing off against a dangerous enemy.
The production staff for Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King includes Ayataka Tanemura (Black Clover second half, Fuuto PI assistant director) as director, Johnny Onda (Black Clover: Yuno no Sho light novel author) and Ai Orii as scriptwriters, Itsuko Takeda (Black Clover) as character designer, and Minako Seki (Black Clover) as music composer. Studio Pierrot is in charge of the animation production for the series.
The main voice cast includes Gakuto Kajiwara as Asta, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Yuno, Junichi Suwabe as Yami Sukehiro, and Kana Yuuki as Noelle Silva. Toshihiko Seki is voicing the original character Wizard King Conrad for the film.
Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King will feature an original story supervised by original creator Yuuki Tabata. It will revolve around the return of the former Wizard King Conrad. The film will also feature Houchuu Ootsuka, Miyuki Sawashiro, and Fumiya Takahashi as former Wizard Kings Edward, Princia, and Jester, respectively.
The Black Clover anime series ran from 2017 to 2021 with Tatsuya Yoshihara (Chainsaw Man action director) directing the first half and serving as chief director for the second.
Tabata’s original manga was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on February 16, 2015 under the Jump Comics label. Thirty-four tankoubon volumes have been released as of March 2023. The manga has also inspired a multimedia franchise that includes various spin-off manga, light novels, and video games.
