The Legend of Mana -The Teardrop Crystal- anime is scheduled to premiere on October 7 in Japan. A TV ad was released in addition to the premiere date announcement.

Legend of Mana -The Teardrop Crystal- is based on Square Enix‘s 1999 JRPG Legend of Mana and is meant to commemorate the game’s 30th anniversary. A remastered version of the game was released in June 2021 for Steam, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch and in December 2021 for iOS and Android.

The anime’s staff includes Masato Jinbou (The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 director) as director and series composer and Youko Shimomura (Hi Score Girl) as music composer. Tarou Ikegami (Lapis Re:LiGHTs) designed the anime’s characters based off the original character designs from the game’s illustrator HACCAN. Graphinica and Yokohama Animation Laboratory are in charge of the animation production.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shiloh, Sayori Hayami as Serafina, Yuuichirou Umehara as Elazul, and Kaori Nazuka as Pearl.

Square Enix describes the Legend of Mana remaster as:

Set off on a journey to find the mystical Mana Tree seen in a dream, before discovering… the world map is empty!

During your travels, you’ll acquire special artifacts; place these wherever you’d like on the map to bring towns and dungeons to life and advance the story.

Meet a colourful cast of characters, square off against fearsome monsters, and complete quests in the vast world of Fa’Diel.
