Hell’s Paradise Anime to be Produced by MAPPA, New Trailer

During Jump Fest 2022, TWIN ENGINE announced that Hell’s Paradise anime adaptation will be produced by MAPPA. A promotional video was also released featuring Gabimaru, Sagiri, and other characters from the series. A new teaser visual was also released.

The key staff will include Kaori Makita as director, Akira Kindaichi as series composer, Koji Hisaki as character designer, and Yoshiaki Dewa as music composer. 

The manga is written by Yuji Kaku and published on Shonen Jump+. Kaku commented on the announcement: 

“Up until today I always had slight doubts about doing an animation adaptation, but after eye-witnessing MAPPA’s high-quality work, those doubts were gone. My heart is pounding with excitement! I would be thrilled if not only the viewers, but also the production team will enjoy making this show!”

The time sets the tail end of Japan’s Edo period.

Gabimaru the Hollow, a former ninja assassin of Iwagakure is offered a chance to be pardoned of all crimes if he finds the elixir of life on a fabled island.

In order to reunite with beloved wife, Gabimaru and a female executioner “Yamada Asaemon Sagiri” go on an expedition to the mystic island to find the elixir of life. When Gabimaru and Sagiri set their feet on the island, they discover that there are other death row convicts with the same purpose.

The island is full of mysterious creatures, eerie artificial statues, immortals ruling the island… In this mysterious mystic island, can Gabimaru find the elixir of life and return back safely-!?
