Crunchyroll has released a preview clip for the upcoming Fena: Pirate Princess, which it co-produced with Adult Swim.
The over-four-minute clip shows a portion of protagonist Fena’s escape from the island she’s on, followed by a rescue by a mysterious red-armored warrior.
Fena: Pirate Princess was announced in 2020 and is set to premiere on August 14 on Adult Swim and Crunchyroll. The Japanese release will be in October.
The show is described as:
After an orphan escapes to the high seas, she takes her place as captain of a pirate crew for a swashbuckling adventure!
The staff of Fena: Pirate Princess includes Kazuto Nakazawa (B: The Beginning) as director, Asako Kuboyama as the screenplay writer, and Yuki Kajiura (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as music composer. Production I.G is the animation production studio.
Aside from Nakazawa, the director credits include ToyGerPROJECT, Tetsuya Takahashi, and Saki Fujī. Additionally, Nakazawa and Production I.G are both listed as the show’s original story creators.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Asami Seto as Fena, Ryota Suzuki as Yukimaru, Takahiro Sakurai as Shitan, Aoi Yūki as Karin, Gen Satō as Enju, Ryota Ōsaka as Kaede, Jun Ōsuka as Tsubaki, Shintaro Tanaka as Makaba, Manabu Muraji as Salman, and Hiroaki Hirata as Otto.
