During the live-streamed GA Fes 2021 event, it was announced that Goblin Slayer will receive a second season. The announcement came alongside a new teaser visual.
Kumo Kagyu was the original author of the dark fantasy novel series that was published by SB Creative in February 2016, and Kōsuke Kurose launched the ongoing manga adaptation in Big Gangan in May 2016. Yen Press releases the novels and manga in English. The series’ first season premiered in Japan in October 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the first season with subtitles as it aired, and Funimation streamed the series with an English dub.
Crunchyroll describes the anime’s first season as:
“I’m not saving the world. I just kill goblins.” Rumor has it that, in a certain guild in the middle of nowhere, there is an extraordinary man who has climbed all the way to the Silver rank just by killing goblins. At the same guild, a priestess who’s just become a new adventurer has formed her first party… and the man who ends up rescuing that party when they get into trouble is none other than the Goblin Slayer.
