Platinum End Anime Casts Miyu Irino and Yui Ogura As Its Lead Characters

The upcoming Platinum End anime has cast Miyu Irino (A Silent Voice‘s Ishida Shoya, Maquia: When The Promised Flower Blooms‘ Ariel) and Yui Ogura (Goblin Slayer‘s Priestess) as its leads. Irino will play the role of Mirai Kakehashi, while Ogura will play the role of Nasse.

Previews of the character designs were also released.

Set to premiere in fall, Platinum End is based on the manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and drawn by Takeshi Obata, the same writer and artist who were behind Death Note. The manga ran from 2015 to 2021 in Shueisha’s Jump Square Magazine. A promotional video and key visual for the anime were released in December 2020.

The staff includes Hideya Takahashi (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) as director, Kouji Ooya (No Game No Life) as character designer, Shinichi Inotsume (Gleipnir) as series composer, and Digital Frontier’s Masanori Ikeda (Infini-T Force) as 3DCG director. Signal MD is in charge of the animation production.

Manga Plus describes the manga’s story:

Mirai’s once-great life turned to hell after his family was killed in a mysterious accident. But now that an angel is on his side, things might be looking up. With his newly received angelic powers, can Mirai get over his tragic past and find true happiness…?
