Former Summer 2018 ‘Anime of the Season’ (AOTS) and ATA 2019 ‘Anime of the Year’ (AOTY) 9th Placer, Attack on Titan is back at the top as it slightly edged others by as little as 7 votes – the narrowest winning margin in a weekly top anime chart results. It previously also gained the narrowest winning margin for the AOTS Title, winning by only 10 votes against its closest rival Angels of Death. This ended the 6-week cat and mouse chase at the top spot between Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Fruits Basket. Most of the series’ characters meanwhile also had a great chart performance this week.
Armin Arlert recorded the highest post-first week debuting rank for any character in Anime Trending’s (AT) history as it goes straight to #3 after a heart-wrenching episode which also did wonders for his commander Erwin Smith, who went up by a spot to #4 this week as viewers witnessed his ultimate fate in the series. Arlert’s childhood friend, Eren Jaeger also finally entered the Top 10 while Levi Ackerman continues to dominate the male charts for the third straight week – becoming even more closer to being the 3rd Hiroshi Kamiya character to win a top male award in AT. It marks just the 3rd time and the first time since Winter 2018 that a series manage to occupy 4 spots in a character charts which was previously done by A Place Further than the Universe (Winter 2018), and Mekakucity Actors (Spring 2014)
Among the series’ female characters, only Mikasa Ackerman was in the top 10 charts as she finally returned after getting booted out of the charts last week.
This season’s musical anime are close to fully dominating the charts as Kono Oto Tomare! finished as a runner-up this week same with Carole and Tuesday (which is listed unofficially). Chika Kudou (Kono Oto Tomare) slightly dipped though by a spot to #5 but his co-cast Satowa Houzuki gained a spot to #6. The pair together maintained hold of the #1 spot in the couple-ship charts for the second straight week.
Sarazanmai entered the charts for the first time and debuts at #9 while Fairy Gone re-enters the charts at #10.
