Aniplex of America announced it has licensed Kaguya-sama: Love is War, with simulcasting scheduled to begin on January 12th, 2019 on Crunchyroll, Hulu and FunimationNow. Based off the popular manga series by Aka Akasaka, the story revolves around two star student council students, Kaguya Shinomiya (voiced by Aoi Koga) and Miyuki Shirogane (voiced by Makoto Furukawa) who go through immense lengths to get the other to confess first.
The romance, comedy anime is directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama, character design by Yuko Yahiro, and series structure by Yasuhiro Nakanishi. A-1 Pictures is animating the series with Yuko Yahiro, Hiroshi Yakou and Yuko Hariba as chief animation directors.
