The official website of the television anime adaptation of Kore Yamazaki’s manga series Mahoutsukai no Yome (The Ancient Magus Bride) released its third preview and new key visual. Scheduled to begin broadcasting in October 2017, the first three episode of the anime series has already premiered at Anime Expo 2017, Crunchyroll Expo 2017 and various U.S. theaters.
The latest preview featured “Here” by JUNNA, the opening theme for the upcoming anime series.
Currently, there is a three-part OVA prequel released for the series. The first two episodes are available on Crunchyroll and it describes the show as:
Chise Hatori, 15 years old. Lost, without hope, and without family, she is bought for money – not by another person, but by a non-human sorcerer named Elias. Though she hesitates, she begins life anew as his apprentice and future wife. She moves on with her new and peaceful life, slowly but surely, until one day, when she finds a Japanese picture book among the many sent to her from London by Angelica. It is a fateful book that discovered her in her younger years when she was still troubled and lonely. This piece is a prequel to Chise’s encounter with the Thorn Sorcerer.
Both the anime and OVA series is being animated by WIT Studio. The third and final episode of the OVA is set to premiere September 9.
