The original soundtrack for Jadugar: A Witch in Mongolia is set to be released in CD form on September 30. It’s priced at 3,850 yen after tax, or US$30 per Animate International’s listing.
The historical drama’s soundtrack, which was composed by Koshiro Hino, is split across two discs, one containing 24 tracks and the other 25. A postcard is included as a freebie, but stocks are limited.
Aside from Animate International, the soundtrack is available on online stores like VAP STORE, HMV&BOOKS Online, and Tower Records Online.
Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia began airing on July 4 with two back-to-back episodes. An adaptation of the manga A Witch’s Life in Mongol (Tenmaku no Jaadugar) by Tomato Soup, it follows the Persian slave Sitara (Akira Sekine), who is captured by the Mongol Empire and soon finds herself interacting with figures of high standing under the alias Fatima, while carrying a desire for revenge. In a comment for the anime’s website, Hino, who hadn’t composed for an animated work until Jaadugar, said that “All of the characters are compelling, but among them, portraying the complex emotions of Sitara—who lives tenaciously and resiliently while carrying resentment and sorrow—was both the greatest challenge and the most rewarding experience.”
Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia is directed by Abel Gongora (Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, DAN DA DAN Season 2 co-director) at Science SARU with Naoko Yamada (director of A Silent Voice, K-ON!, The Heike Story, The Colors Within) as chief director. Other staff include character designer and animation chief Kenichi Yoshida (Eureka Seven character designer) and series composer Kanichi Kato (The Eminence in Shadow).
The manga, published by Akita Shoten and currently serialized in Souffle, started serialization in 2021 and has six volumes as of July 2026. It was the number one title in the female reader category of This Manga is Amazing! 2023 and the top historical fiction manga in Apple Books Store’s 2022 Best Manga list. Yen Press has it in English.
