Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki: 2nd Stage Debuts Main Visual, Theme Song Details

The Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki: 2nd Stage anime has received a main visual that gathers its cast of characters for a group photo (taken by protagonist Fumiya Tomozaki, whose face appears via selfie screen).

It was also announced that DIALOGUE+is returning from Season 1 as the artist for both theme songs. Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki: 2nd Stage‘s opening, which is also DIALOGUE+’s 10th single, is titled “Easy? Hard? Shikashite Susume!” while the ending is “Dareka janai Kara.”

Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki is based on the Shogakukan-published high school rom-com light novels written by Yuuki Yaku and illustrated by Fly, which are published under the Gagaga Bunko label. The 2021 first season had 12 episodes while 2nd Stage, which premieres in January 2024, will have 13.

Yen Press describes the light novels as:

Tomozaki is one of the best gamers in Japan, and in his opinion, the game of real life is one of the worst. No clear-cut rules for success, horribly balanced, and nothing makes sense. But then he meets a gamer who’s just as good as him, and she offers to teach him a few exploits…

The light novel series began in 2016 and has 12 volumes, including two short story collections, as of January 2022. The light novels have inspired a manga adaptation by Eito Chida and a Minami Nanami manga spin-off by Bana Yoshida.
