A new MAPPA-produced original anime titled Bucchigiri?! has been announced with a January 2024 premiere date. A teaser visual and a pre-animated teaser trailer have been released.
Bucchigiri?! is directed by Hiroko Utsumi (SK8 the Infinity, Banana Fish, Free!) with Taku Kishimoto (Ranking of Kings) as series composer and scriptwriter and Takahiro Kagami (SK8 the Infinity action animation director) as character designer and chief animation director. The premise sees protagonist Arajin Tomoshibi getting caught in a battle between powerful combatants after a reunion with his former best friend. The synopsis and trailer also hint at a supernatural component to these battles.
