Mato Seihei no Slave Anime Adaptation Announced

The Mato Seihei no Slave fantasy action manga is getting an anime adaptation. A footage-less teaser trailer was released alongside the announcement.

SevenArcs is the animation production company for the anime, while the cast includes Yuuya Hirose as Yuuki Wakura and Akari Kitou as Kyouka Uzen. The upcoming title will make an appearance at the upcoming Jump Festa 2022’s Jump Studio stage.

The Mato Seihei no Slave manga by Takahiro and Youhei Takemura began in 2019 and has eight volumes as of August 2021. The story takes place after the appearance of a monster-filled dimension called Mato in Japan. Within the Mato exists a peach that grants only females with special powers, which gives rise to the all-female Anti-Demon Corp.

One day, a gloomy high school boy called Yuuki Wakura finds himself lost in the entrance to the Mato, where he is saved by Kyouka Uzen, the leader of the Corp’s 7th “Program.” Surrounded by enemies, Kyouka declares that she will make Yuuki her slave and uses her special ability to draw out Yuuki’s power.

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
