Now, the Sakura Miko YouTube channel has released a recorded miComet cover of the popular anime song, with the cover&#8217;s <strong>;3ZUTAMA<\/strong>-directed video featuring illustrations from <strong>Rosuuri<\/strong>, <strong>Nana<\/strong>, and<strong> Zumichir<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u30a2\u30a4\u30c9\u30eb \/ miComet (cover)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4kCzI6xbQoo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">&#8220;Idol&#8221; was first released on April 12, the same date as <em>OSHI NO KO<\/em>&#8216;s premiere. During a streaming session after the anniversary&#8217;s livestream, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UqqBVOBO4P4&amp;t=63s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hoshimachi Suisei revealed<\/a> that Sakura Miko had wanted to perform the song together before the full version of the song had even been released.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The <strong>YOASOBI<\/strong> opening has since become a big hit, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard-japan.com\/d_news\/detail\/129292\/2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Billboard Japan reporting<\/a> on August 30 that &#8220;Idol&#8221; had remained at the top of its Japan Hot 100 chart for 20 consecutive weeks since its April 19 chart debut. It has also reached the top of Billboard&#8217;s Global chart (excluding the United States) and Apple Music\u2019s Top 100: Global chart. The song&#8217;s animated music video has received 298 million views at the time of writing, while its English version has so far garnered 25 million views since its May 25 debut.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">&#8220;Idol&#8221; has been covered by multiple other Hololive VTubers, including Amane Kanata, Hakui Koyori, Murasaki Shion, Momosuzu Nene, Sakamata Chloe, Mori Calliope, and iRyS. On August 7, Kazama Iroha&#8217;s YouTube channel released an &#8220;Idol&#8221; cover that was a duet with AZKi, while HOLOSTAR&#8217;s Astel Leda and Kanade Izuru released covers about an hour before the miComet version.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Non-Hololive members like the HIMEHINA pair and Nijisanji&#8217;s Hoshikawa Sara, Kotoka Torahime, and Elu have also covered the song.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>OSHI NO KO <\/em>is an adaptation of the Japanese entertainment industry-themed manga written by <strong>Aka Akasaka<\/strong> with art by <b>Mengo Yokoyari<\/b>, which follows two idol fans who are reincarnated as the children of the idol they both admire.
