The Godzilla Singular Point<\/em> anime series has won the Best Media award at the 53rd Seiun Award. The category covers titles that fall under “Theater, Cinema, TV, Video game, and whole Entertainment.”<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the conclusion of the Rebuild of Evangelion<\/em> movie quadrilogy was acknowledged with the Non Category award, which recognizes “Everything that feels Sense of Wonder [sic].” The final film in the series, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time<\/em>, was released almost 15 years after 2007’s Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bones <\/strong>and Orange<\/strong>-produced Godzilla Singular Point<\/em> was directed by Atsushi Takahashi<\/strong> with series composition and scripts by novelist Toh EnJoe<\/strong>, while Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time <\/em>was chief directed and written by Hideaki Anno<\/strong> at Khara<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other notable winners include Keisuke Makino<\/b>‘s Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut<\/em> light novel series and Takashi Shiina<\/b>‘s Zettai Karen Children<\/em> manga series, which won the Best Japanese Long Story and Best Comic awards respectively. Both titles have been adapted into TV anime series. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut <\/em>anime aired in 2021 with 12 episodes, while Zettai Karen Children <\/em>received a 51-episode adaptation that ran from 2008 to 2009. As for the original works, the former ran from 2016 to 2021 with seven volumes, while the latter ran from 2004 to 2021 with 63 tankoubon volumes.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Seiun Award is an annual speculative fiction award that was established in 1970 and organized by the Science Fiction Fan Groups’\u00a0Association of Nippon. It recognizes works that were released in the previous year. Votes are cast by attendees of the Nihon SF Taikai convention.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other award categories this year include Best Japanese Short Story, Best Translated Long Story, Best Tranlated Short Story, Best Artist, and Best Non-fiction (related work).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
