Toei Animation announced a new\u00a0Dragon Ball Super<\/em> movie scheduled for 2022. The announcement comes in celebration of Goku Day on May 9.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It will be the second film based on the\u00a0Dragon Ball Super<\/em> manga and anime series. The most recent film, Dragon Ball Super: Broly<\/em>,\u00a0<\/em>debuted in 2018 and grossed over $120 million worldwide. <\/span><\/p>\n

The second film was in production in 2018, before the release of Broly,<\/em> and is being developed “with the goal of telling a large-scale story that would build on the enthusiastic response for the previous theatrical series and the current global fervor for \u201cBroly.\u201d”<\/span><\/p>\n

Akira Toriyama, the original creator, shared a message in celebration of the news.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
