The first entries, <em>Mononoke The Movie: The Phantom in the Rain<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Mononoke The Movie: Chapter II \u2013 The Ashes of Rage<\/em>, were released in Japan in July 2024 and March 2025, respectively. Both are on Netflix internationally.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Like the second film, <em>Gekijoban<\/em>&nbsp;<em>Mononoke Daisansho: Hebigami <\/em>has <b>Kenji Nakamura&nbsp;<\/b>(the director of the first film) as chief director and <strong>Yasumi Atarashi<\/strong> as scriptwriter. <b>Tomoaki Koshida&nbsp;<\/b>(<em>RPG Real Estate<\/em>) is the new director, while <strong>Kitsuneko Nagata<\/strong> returns from the first two movies as character designer. <strong>Studio Kafka&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>EOTA&nbsp;<\/strong>are credited with the animation production.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><em>Mononoke<\/em> began with the&nbsp;\u201c<span id=\"productTitle\" class=\"a-size-large product-title-word-break\">Goblin Cat\u201d episodes of<\/span> the 2006 horror anime anthology <em>Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales<\/em>.
