The Shu ni Ichido Classmate o Kau Hanashi<\/em> yuri<\/a> light novel series will debut in English this October with the title Buying a Classmate<\/span> Once a Week<\/em>. Yen Press<\/a> is publishing it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The slow-burn romance from Usa Haneda<\/strong>, who has described the story as a “co-existence yuri” between two “pain-in-the-ass” girls, follows classmates Shiori Miyagi and Hazuki Sendai. The two<\/span> originally have little interaction with each other but are now in a secret arrangement where Hazuki visits Shiori’s home and obeys her orders for five thousand yen a week. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Buying a Classmate<\/span> Once a Week<\/em><\/span> began as a web novel on Kakuyomu in 2020, while the light novels, illustrated by U35<\/strong> and published under KADOKAWA’s<\/span> Fantasia Bunko label\/imprint, <\/span>started in 2023. The light novel series placed fourth in the Tsugi ni Kuru Light Novel Taisho 2024<\/a> bunkobon category and ranked ninth in This Light Novel Is Amazing! 2024<\/a>‘s bunko ranking and Tsugi ni Kuru Light Novel Taisho 2023<\/a>‘s bunkobon category. It also inspired an Akita Shoten-published manga adaptation drawn by Migihara<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ninth volume of the light novel series, which is currently part of Fantasia Bunko\u2019s recently created GirlsLine yuri project, will be released on May 20, 2026 in Japan. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buying a Classmate<\/span> Once a Week <\/em>has been translated into Traditional Chinese, Thai, and Korean. There are also<\/span> trailers and voice dramas that star Lynn<\/strong> (as Shiori) and Kana Ichinose<\/strong> (as Hazuki), who respectively voiced Miorine Rembran and Suletta Mercury from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury<\/em>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
