A new memorial visual<\/a> for the Rascal Does Not Dream of A Dear Friend<\/em><\/a> anime film has been revealed. This week’s visual<\/a> presents lead heroine Mai Sakurajima, dressed in the bunny girl outfit from the Rascal Does Not Dream<\/em> series’ beginning.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Rascal Does Not Dream of A Dear Friend<\/a> <\/em>will debut in Japanese theaters on October 16. The <\/em>movie shares its title with the original light novel series\u2019 15th and final main volume, which Yen Press describes as such:<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rascal Does Not Dream <\/em>(Seishun Butayaro<\/em>) series’ general premise sees protagonist Sakuta Azusagawa getting involved with people with supernatural problems, beginning with his high school senior Mai and her invisibility issue. The KADOKAWA-published light novels, which come from The Pet Girl of Sakurasou <\/i>duo of Hajime Kamoshida <\/strong>(writer) and Keji Mizoguchi <\/strong>(illustrator), began in 2014. The anime adaptations started with a 2018 TV series, titled Rascal Does Not Dream <\/em>of Bunny Girl Senpai <\/em>like the first light novel volume, and also consists of a 2019 movie, two 2023 films, and the Summer 2025 anime season\u2019s Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The light novel series is published under KADOKAWA\u2019s Dengeki Bunko label\/imprint. While the main story has concluded, a second short story collection will be released on October 9, 2026 in Japan. Some of the main stories have inspired manga adaptations.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
