Three new voice cast members have been announced for the upcoming Aoki Densho Welsh & Shedar TV anime series. The French-Japanese co-produced anime will begin its broadcast in Japan on Tokyo MX, starting on October 2, 2026.
The newest cast members include Wataru Takagi as Khan Karkass (far right below), Sho Hayami as Azalar (center below), and Risa Hayamizu as Mama Caroni (far left below).
They join a previously announced voice cast that include:
- • Rikuya Yasuda as Welsh
- • Yuki Kaji as Shedar
- • Yuko Kaida as Zabel
- • Makoto Furukawa as Joris
- • Risa Kayama as Bechamel
Naoki Horiuchi (The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash) is directing the anime series, with Saori Nakashiki (Tales of Wedding Rings, Sasaki and Peeps) as character designer and Pierre-Jean Beaudoin and Jose Pavli as music composers. ToT is credited with the original work, scripts, and original series composition, while Kenichi Yamashita (The Holy Grail of Eris, MF Ghost) is credited as series composer for the Japanese-language version of the series. STUDIO MASSKET is in charge of the animation production, while Ankama and Studio Dream Catcher are credited with the production.
Ankama posted on its X/Twitter account that the series will have a total of 12 episodes and will be dubbed in Japanese, English, and French. It also confirmed that a worldwide release is being planned and more details will be announced at a later date.

Zabelle Sheran Sharm, queen of Bonta and guardian of the Ebony Dofus, dreams of uniting the nations of the World of Twelve. But her tyrannical reign and thirst for power have plunged the lands into misery. A prophecy, proclaimed by her son Shedar, foretells her fall and that a boy with azure blue eyes will bring an end to her power.
This boy is Welsh, a young cook from Brassica. His life is upended when a black dragon, Asalar, attacks his village. To save his world, Welsh must find the Ivory Dofus, the only artifact capable of defeating Zabelle. Accompanied by his faithful friend Béchamel and the adventurers Joris and Khan Karkass, Welsh discovers his true origins and embraces his fate as a hero. Together, they must face unsuspected dangers to free the World of Twelve from Zabelle’s clutches.
