VIZ Media is teasing the reveal of a new Naruto TV anime “limited series” during the “NARUTO: What’s Next?” stage panel event at New York Comic Con 2026 on October 10, 2026. The event’s date coincides with the birthday of series protagonist Naruto Uzumaki.
The “NARUTO: What’s Next?” panel will run from 5:00 PM EST to 6:00 PM EST on the Empire Stage at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. A worldwide livestream of the panel has been launched on the NARUTO / BORUTO Official YouTube channel. It will also stream in Japan Standard Time on October 11, 2026 from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
Junko Takeuchi and Noriaki Sugiyama, who voice Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha respectively, will appear on the stage with Studio Pierrot’s Yoshihiro Tominaga, who is also an executive producer at PIERROT FILMS.
Additionally, a countdown to the announcement has been launched with its own official website.
The panel will also share the latest information about the Naruto Card Game, which will be launched sometime next summer.
A 20th anniversary Naruto anime project was announced in March 2023 with a planned release of four episodes. It was originally scheduled for a September 2023 release in Japan, but received a delay in order to “improve the quality” of the production.
Masashi Kishimoto‘s Naruto manga series was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from September 21, 1999 to November 10, 2014. A total of 72 tankobon volumes were released in Japan.
The manga inspired a long-running TV anime adaptation that was released from October 2002 to February 2007. It was followed up by a direct sequel series, Naruto Shippuden that aired from February 2007 to March 2017. The series has spawned several anime films, video games, and novels.
A sequel manga series titled Boruto was launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016, before being transferred to V Jump monthly magazine in July 2019. It is illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto, with Ukyo Kodachi credited as writer for the manga’s first 13 volumes and Kishimoto from the 14th volume onwards. It inspired its own anime adaptation in April 2017.

Twelve years ago the Village Hidden in the Leaves was attacked by a fearsome threat. A nine-tailed fox spirit claimed the life of the village leader, the Hokage, and many others.
