The Everyone’s Idol Has A Secret (Hokago no Idol ni wa Himitsu ga aru) manga is getting a TV anime adaptation. It’ll begin airing in April 2027.
The anime will star Reiji Kawashima as male lead Hizashi Hiruno and Hikaru Tono as female lead and idol Rei Kuromiya. The characters are classmates who unexpectedly come to spend their afterschool time together via remedial classes. Other announced cast members are =LOVE’s Iori Noguchi as Sakura Akai and Ami Maeshima as Sora Konno.
Hikaru Sato (The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You) is directing Everyone’s Idol Has A Secret at Gekkou, with Fumihiko Shimo (Date A Live IV and V) as series composer, and Kibidango 14-go (Wash It All Away, under the name Azuma Tozawa) as character designer. Credited for the music are Satoru Kosaki (The Apothecary Diaries co-music composer) and MONACA.
The original manga by Kashiko Amane is running on Hakusensha’s Young Animal Web and will get its 10th volume on October 10. Yen Press describes the synopsis as such:
Hizashi Hiruno, a freshman at a super-elite high school, has just finished his first academic proficiency test of the year. He anxiously awaits the results, which will set the tone for his next three years at school. But due to a mistake on his answer sheet, he receives an abysmal score and gets sent to remedial lessons! If there’s one silver lining, he’s not the only one—and his comrade could be the girl of his dreams?!
Correction: This article originally miswrote Noguchi’s surname as Nogura. The error has been rectified.
