A main key visual and trailer have been released for the upcoming Detective Conan: The Counterfeit Case of Ultra 30 TV anime special, spotlighting the police detective forces cooperating in Conan’s latest case. The special, which commemorates the Detective Conan anime’s 30th anniversary, will broadcast in Japan on September 25, 2026 as part of NTV’s Friday Road Show program.
Japanese singer Mai Kuraki will be performing the special’s theme song “Hallelujah.”
The Counterfeit Case of Ultra-30 (also known in Japanese as 30-go Satsujin Jiken) is directed by Nobuhara Kamanaka (A Certain Scientific Accelerator and Detective Conan Police Academy Arc Wild Police Story, current Detective Conan co-director).
The special centers on Conan Edogawa, the Detective Boys, Hiroshi Agasa, Ran Mori, and Sonoko Suzuki visiting the Printing Bureau’s Nagano factory amidst the release of a new 10,000 yen note design. When a murder case develops into something larger because of the discovery of counterfeit money, Conan and Heiji find themselves heading to Osaka, which is believed to be where the counterfeits are being printed.
The Detective Conan TV anime official X/Twitter account also posted a visual for its next story arc, which features Heiji and Kazuha. It will air in Japan for three consecutive weeks, starting on September 26, 2026.
The ongoing Detective Conan anime series began airing in 1996. It has spawned a franchise that includes several anime films, seven of which, including 2025’s Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback, are among the top 100 highest-grossing films in Japan.
Gosho Aoyama’s Detective Conan detective mystery manga began serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday on January 5, 1994 and has released 108 tankobon volumes as of April 2026. A 109th volume will be published in Japan on October 16, 2026. VIZ Media and Shogakukan Asia release the manga in English, with the former publishing under the title Case Closed.
