Pony Canyon has revealed a new trailer, main key visual, and theme songs for the upcoming Romelia War Chronicle TV anime series, which will premiere early on some streaming services in Japan on October 3, 2026. The series will have two cours and will broadcast on several Japanese television channels, starting on October 5, 2026.
The second main trailer previews the anime’s main theme songs, which consist of the opening theme “AKATSUKININARU” by Chogakusei and ending theme “Nightfall feat. Maika Loubté” by KOHTA YAMAMOTO.
Koji Saito is directing the anime series, replacing Hiroshi Shirai (Wish Upon the Pleiades 3D director), who was previously credited as the director. Shirai’s name disappeared from the anime’s official website since at least late July.
Other staff include Takahiro Hirata as assistant director, Aya Satsuki (Solo Camping for Two) as series composer and scriptwriter, and Yoshiko Saito (Farming Life in Another World) and Yuta Otaka as character designers. Atra is in charge of the animation production.

The fantasy light novel series is written by Ryo Ariyama and was published under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Books imprint from June 19, 2020 to November 18, 2025. Kodama illustrated the first volume of the series, with Ryo Kamito later providing illustrations for volumes two through six. Seven total volumes have been published as of November 2025, comprising six main volumes and a side story volume. The series began as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel in August 2019.
A manga adaptation by Kamito was launched in April 2021. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga for English release under the title Romelia War Chronicle: Even After Defeating the Demon King, Humanity Still Seems Doomed, So I Formed a Military Force.
Crunchyroll will stream Romelia War Chronicle and describes the synopsis as:
Romelia and her party succeed in defeating the Demon King Zelgis, though Prince Henri’s reckless charge forces them into a grueling battle. In the aftermath, Romelia is branded “dead weight” for not fighting directly, and the Prince unilaterally breaks off their engagement. Denied a place in the victory celebrations, Romelia returns home, only to be met with cold indifference from her family and society. Yet, she refuses to break. She has already set her sights on the path that lies ahead.
