Kyoto Animation has released an animated commercial for Moon Fighters, one of the novel series published under its KA Esuma label. The novel’s first volume was released on November 22, 2023, the same date as the Sogen no Kagayaki novel (which got its own animated trailer recently), and its second volume will be released on November 20 this year.
In Moon Fighters, developments in the future have led to the moon being a reachable destination for many, be it for purposes like sightseeing or resource-mining. The story depicts the lives of a team of men, nicknamed Gekkyu, who step in when trouble arises on the moon.
The novels are written by Full Metal Panic‘s Shoji Gatoh and have character designs by Kyoto Animation animation director Nobuaki Maruki.
