The Lonely Snow Widow and the Cursed Ring (Hitotsukiai ga Nigate na Mibojin no Yuki-onna-san to Noroi no Yubiwai, or The Shy Snow Woman and the Cursed Ring) is based on Puuzaki Puuna‘s adult dojin, which began in 2021 and is published in English by Irodori Comics. The synopsis reads:
Widowed Snow Woman Meets Young Man…It’s the modern world, where humans, yokai, and various other races coexist…
One day, Satoru—who works as the apartment manager—ends up angering his secret crush, Mifuyu, a snow woman who lives in the same building.
Eager to make amends, he uses a mysterious ring that is said to help in communicating with yokai. However, he finds himself hotly pursued by Mifuyu, who has suddenly become extremely forward.
A socially aloof widowed snow woman and a young adult male who wants to support her. What awaits them at the end of their repeated physical encounters, fueled by the ring’s power…?
Kazuomi Koga (Rent-A-Girlfriend Seasons 1, 2, 4, and 5) is directing the anime with Minakyawaakapiv (Guilty Hole ～ Room of Guilty Pleasure) as character designer and studio HoKIBOSHI as the animation production studio. The cast includes Rikka Kitami as Mifuyu Yukino, Harumichi Shido as Satoru Takahashi, and Sara Ayumi as Kaede Kiryuin.
OceanVeil will stream the show in fall 2026.
Correction: The anime’s title has been amended to be The Lonely Snow Widow and the Cursed Ring instead of The Lonely Snow Woman and the Cursed Ring.
