Thunder 3 Anime Series Unveils Mid-Season Trailer

A mid-season trailer has been unveiled for the ongoing Thunder 3 TV anime series. The series began streaming on Netflix on July 8, 2026.   

Netflix, which is streaming the anime in select countries and territories worldwide, also released an English-subtitled version of the trailer. 

Hiroyuki Seshita (Ajin: Demin-Human chief director, Blame! and KamiErabi GOD.app director) is the chief director for the anime, with Keisuke Ide (Levius) as director, Hiroshi Seko (Witch Hat Atelier, Rooster Fighter) as series composer and scriptwriter, and Shin Sugai and Ryunari as assistant directors. UNEND is handling the animation production.  

Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast stars: 

  • • Sayumi Suzushiro as Pyontaro Tezuka
  • • Natsumi Kawaida as Tsubame Azuma
  • • Eri Akiyama as Hiroshi Ochanomizu
  • • Honoka Mitsubachi as Futaba Tezuka

Yuki Ikeda’s sci-fi manga series ran in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine from May 6, 2022 to June 5, 2026. Ten tankobon volumes have been published in Japan as of August 2026.

Kodansha USA licensed the Thunder 3 manga series for English print and digital release, describing the synopsis as: 

Pyontaro is a middle schooler whose little sister, Futaba, simply adores him. One day, he and his buddies—the so-called “Small Three”—decide to watch a weird disc their teacher lent them. Little do the boys realize this disc is linked to another universe…and while they aren’t looking, Futaba gets sucked in! Can Pyontaro and his friends find Futaba? And just what is this other world they’ve discovered?!
