Voice actor Simba Tsuchiya has been announced as the latest voice cast member for the upcoming Inherit the Winds TV anime series. The anime will begin airing in Japan in January 2027.
Tsuchiya will voice the character Harada Sanosuke, having previously voiced Piichi Nakagawa from MARRIAGETOXIN and Ishiya in The World is Dancing.

He joins a previously announced voice cast that include:
- • Daisuke Sakuma as Tachikawa Jinsuke
- • Yuki Kaji as Okita Soji
- • Aoi Yuki as Koganei Hyogo
- • Nichika Omori as Kurosuke
- • Koki Uchiyama as Hijikata Toshizo
- • Yuichi Nakamura as Kondo Isami
- • Ayumu Murase as Todo Heisuke
- • Ryohei Kimura as Nagakura Shinpachi
Tomohiro Kawamura (Air Bound) is directing the anime series, with Ebina Fumi as character designer. The story is inspired by the Tachikawa Jinsuke stage play series by Yutaka Narui, who is also in charge of writing the scripts for the series. The series will be co-produced by Live2D Creative Studio and Drive.
A four-panel manga adaptation by Matsuri Muramatsu will also be published by Kodansha later this year.

Inherit the Winds was first announced at Aniplex Online Fest in September 2025. The anime is set during the third year of the Bunkyu era at a time of unrest in Japan. It follows an amnesiac called Tachikawa Jinsuke, whose recollection of his memories has large consequences.
