In December 2025, TechnoByobu and U/M/A/A teamed up for a series of gold leaf-pressed “TB-02” byobu folding screens in collaboration with “Ghost in the Shell,” for an exhibition celebrating the franchise. First available at the TOKYO NODE exhibition, the collection is now available for fans across the world.
The byobu folding screen features art reflecting on “Ghost in the Shell’s” thematic balancing of human and machine, in the style of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The “Ghost in the Shell Konpaku” and “Ghost in the Shell Gitai” folding screens feature artwork by mangaka Shirow Masamune and film director Mamoru Oshii respectively.
Additionally, two variants of “HAC module” display pieces have also become available.
The “TB-02” byobu folding screens are listed at 1,000,000JPY (approx. $6130USD), are available to order via TechnoByobu’s website.
