A second trailer and key visual for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 have been revealed. It was also announced that “TACTIC” by Daoko will be the new opening song for the anime, while “Hymnal” by Azusa Tadokoro is the new ending song.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 began airing on April 3 and is available on platforms like Crunchyroll, the Muse Asia YouTube channel, and iQIYI. The new season is set for five cours, with the first two being consecutive.
The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime, which began in 2018, is inspired by Taiki Kawakami‘s Kodansha-published manga adaptation of the isekai fantasy light novels by Fuse. Kodansha USA describes the manga’s synopsis as such:
As players of Monster Hunter and Dungeons & Dragons know, the slime is not exactly the king of the fantasy monsters. So when a 37-year-old Tokyo salaryman dies and wakes up in a world of dragons and magic, he’s a little disappointed to find he’s become a blind, boneless slime monster.
Mikami’s middle age hasn’t gone as he planned: He never found a girlfriend, he got stuck in a dead-end job, and he was abruptly stabbed to death in the street at 37. So when he wakes up in a new world straight out of a fantasy RPG, he’s disappointed but not exactly surprised to find that he’s not a knight or a wizard but a blind slime demon. But there are chances for even a slime to become a hero…
Naokatsu Tsuda (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, The Darwin Incident) is directing the new season at Eight Bit. Miho Okasaki voices protagonist Rimuru.
Aside from the TV series, the anime includes a spin-off titled The Slime Diaries, 2022’s That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond, and an OVA based on the short story that inspired Scarlet Bond. A new movie, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea (Gekijoban Tenseishitara Slime Datta Ken: Sokai no Namida-hen), debuted in Japan on February 27, 2026 and in North America on May 1, 2026.
