The HJ Novels X (formerly Twitter) account has revealed that an anime adaptation of The Furious Princess Decided to Take Revenge (Buchigire Reijo wa Hofuku o Chikaimashita. ~Madosho no Chikara de Sokoku o Tatakitsubushimasu~) is being made.
The Furious Princess Decided to Take Revenge light novel series by Metabo Hagure (with illustrations from Masami) began in 2022 and will release its seventh volume on August 19, 2025 JST. The premise sees the young lady Elisabeth, who has been groomed to be the future empress from an early age, having her betrothal annulled at a party commemorating the nation’s founding and being thrown into jail. Furious at the betrayal, Elizabeth decides to leave the land and enlists the help of a neighboring nation’s viscount, with revenge on her mind. Beyond her information network and financial acumen, Elizabeth also has the power of seven grimoires to aid her.
The Furious Princess Decided to Take Revenge started as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel in 2020. The story was one of the award recipients in the HJ Shosetsu Taisho 2021’s Shosetsuka ni Naro category.
There is also a manga that debuted at the same time as the light novel series. J-Novel Club publishes it in English as A Livid Lady’s Guide to Getting Even: How I Crushed My Homeland with My Mighty Grimoires.
