Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Receives Anime Film Trilogy

Shortly after the conclusion of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc, an anime film trilogy based on the “Infinity Castle” story arc has been confirmed with a new teaser visual and announcement video. 

No premiere date for the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle film trilogy has been announced yet. 

The Hashira Training Arc was announced in June 2023 after the end of the previous season, Swordsmith Village Arc, and first aired on May 12, 2024 and ended with the eighth episode on June 30, 2024.

Haruo Sotozaki directed the recent anime season, with Akira Matsushima as character designer and chief animation director, Koji Eto as art director, Yuuichi Terao as compositing director, and Yuuko Oomae as color designer. Ufotable handled the animation production.

Meanwhile, the anime’s main cast includes: 

  • • Natsuki Hanae as Tanjiro Kamado
  • • Akari Kito as Nezuko Kamado
  • • Hiro Shimono as Zenitsu Agatsuma
  • • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Inosuke Hashibira

Aniplex of America describes the synopsis of Hashira Training Arc as:

The Hashira, the Demon Slayer Corps’ highest ranking swordsmen and members. The Hashira Training has begun in order to face the forthcoming battle against Muzan Kibutsuji. Each with their own thoughts and hopes held in their hearts, a new story for Tanjiro and the Hashira begins.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the original manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge, which began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 15, 2016 to May 18, 2020. A total of 23 tankobon volumes were released in total.

Other anime entries in the franchise include the 2019 first season, the 2020 movie Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, the 2021 TV broadcast version of Mugen Train, and December 2021 to February 2022’s Entertainment District Arc. Crunchyroll is currently streaming all previous seasons and films of the franchise. 

VIZ Media releases the manga in English for North America, describing the main synopsis as:

Learning to destroy demons won’t be easy, and Tanjiro barely knows where to start. The surprise appearance of another boy named Giyu, who seems to know what’s going on, might provide some answers—but only if Tanjiro can stop Giyu from killing his sister first!
