The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses Reveals New PV Trailer, Visual & Main Theme Songs

A new PV trailer and updated key visual have been revealed for the upcoming second season of The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses. The anime is scheduled to air in Japan on July 4, 2024. 

The new trailer also previews the main theme songs for the series, which include the opening theme “Charge!” by Hikari Kodama and the ending theme “Nacchatta!” by Aglio olio e peperoncino

The new visual is a combination of the previously released visuals highlighting members of the Cafe Terrace Familia and the Family Restaurant.

The first season of the anime aired in April 2023 and is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.

Satoshi Kuwabara (returning) is once again directing the second season, with Keiichiro Ochi (returning) as series screenwriter and Masatsune Noguchi (returning) as character designer. Tezuka Productions is in charge of the animation production for the series. 

Shu Kanematsu (returning), Miki Sakurai (returning), Kanade Sakuma (My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me! co-composer), Tsugumi Tanaka (The New Gate co-composer), Kaho Sawada, and Misaki Tsuchida (The New Gate co-composer) are all credited as music composers.  

Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes: 

  • • Masaaki Mizunaka as Hayato Kasukabe
  • • Azumi Waki as Shiragiku Ono
  • • Aya Yamane as Riho Tsukishima
  • • Ruriko Aoki as Oka Makuzawa
  • • Sayumi Suzushiro as Ami Tsuruga
  • • Asami Seto as Akane Hououji 

The anime series is based on the romantic comedy manga by Koji Seo (A Town Where You Live, Suzuka, Fuuka), which was first launched in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine on February 17, 2021 and has released 15 tankobon volumes as of May 2024.

Kodansha USA releases The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses digitally in English, describing the synopsis as: 

When Hayato’s grandmother passed, he planned to sell her rundown café on the shore—not realizing that it was also home to five young women who call themselves her family?! Their desperation to keep the café open convinces Hayato to give it a shot…but even their best intentions might not be enough to make it work! And can he even work with these five unruly women? No matter what, he’s got his work cut out for him!
