The top movie on the June 7 to 9 Japanese box office weekend ranking is Bocchi the Rock! Re:, the first part of the new Bocchi the Rock! recap film.

As Kogyo Tsushin reports, Bocchi the Rock! Re: saw a moviegoer count of 140 thousand and a gross of 218 million yen (~US$1.388 million) for the first-three-day period. This first recap includes an opening sequence that features new footage.

Second on the weekend ranking is Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram with 119 thousand moviegoers and 170 million yen. Other anime movies on the ranking include Umamusume: Beginning of a New Era at fifth place and Idolish7 Live 4bit: Beyond The Period at eighth. At sixth place is the live-action movie adaptation of the Teasing Master Takagi-san manga.

The second Bocchi the Rock! recap, Bocchi the Rock! Re:Re:, is set to premiere in Japan on August 9. Crunchyroll and Sony will distribute both parts in North America.

A lyric video for Bocchi the Rock! Re‘s opening song, “Tsukinami ni Kagayake,” was released on June 8 JST.
