Animate International Open Pre-Orders for Print Version of Mask Danshi: This Shouldn’t Lead to Love Volume 1

Animate International has announced that the print version of Mitsuru Sango’s Mask Danshi: This Shouldn’t Lead to Love Volume 1 will go on sale June 13, 2024. 

Preorders for U.S. customers are now being accepted at the animate USA online shop and animate International online store. Furthermore, the release date for the volume may be pushed back due to shipping delays.

Customers who pre-order or purchase the first volume of Mask Danshi: This Shouldn’t Lead to Love from the animate USA Online Shop will receive an animate-exclusive door hanger with their purchase. Free shipping is available at the animate USA Online Shop for the first 100 people who preorder.

For customers that order the manga volume at the animate International Online Store, they will also receive a bonus sticker with their purchase while supplies last.

Sango launched the BL manga series in Libre’s B-Boy P! magazine on November 26, 2019. A total of four tankobon volumes have been released as of October 2023. 

The series inspired an original animation DVD that was released with the manga’s fourth volume in October 2023. It was produced by Blue Lynx, with animation production being handled by Studio Fusion

Animate International describes the synopsis of Mask Danshi: This Shouldn’t Lead to Love as: 

Sayama is a pessimistic guy who always wears a face mask to school. When the most popular boy in class, Saikawa, rips off the mask out of curiosity, Sayama flips out. Despite his harsh words, he’s somehow captured Saikawa’s interest, who offers to tutor him with a bizarre condition: to let him do as he pleases with what’s under Sayama’s mask. Sayama hates it when people touch his bare face, lips, and mouth, but he can’t resist Saikawa’s attention…
