Aniplex Releases Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 1 Complete Blu-Ray Box Set

Aniplex of America has opened pre-orders for the Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 1 Complete Blu-ray box set, which will be sold exclusively on the Crunchyroll store. The Blu-ray box will cost US$107.98 before tax, and is estimated to be released on June 11, 2024. 

Three Blu-ray discs are included in the box set, comprising all 12 episodes of season one in 16:9 widescreen format. English subtitles are available with each episode, as well as both Japanese and English dubbed languages. 

The set also includes several exclusive bonus items such as a special booklet, an original soundtrack CD, a U.S. Blu-ray exclusive coaster, and four mini character stickers. Other bonus content included in the disc are textless opening and ending sequences, web trailer for the series’ 12 episodes, and several PV and character PV trailers. 

The box cover art illustration is done by anime character designer Hisashi Higashijima (Blue Lock chief action director), with a special Illustration done by original manga artist Hajime Komoto

The anime’s first season premiered from April 8, 2023 to March 30, 2024 for 12 total episodes. The second season adapting “The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc” aired in Japan from January 6, 2024 to March 30, 2024. Crunchyroll is currently streaming both seasons worldwide, outside of Japan.

The original manga ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from January 27, 2020 to July 3, 2023 under the Jump Comics imprint. It has been collected into 18 total tankobon volumes.

The official English website for Mashle describes the synopsis as: 

This is a world of magic. This is a world in which magic is casually used by everyone. In this world of magic, Mash Burnedead attends Magic School.

To protect this quiet life with his family, he sets his sights on becoming a “Divine Visionary,” the elite of the elite, while hiding the fact that he can’t use magic. He surpasses the best and brightest of the wizarding world with his ripped muscles and faces the Divine Visionary Candidate Selection Exam.
