Laid-Back Camp Season 3’s Opening Animation Now On YouTube

The pleasantly stylized opening animation of Laid-Back Camp Season 3 has been released on YouTube.

Directed by Kaoru Futaki (Shy opening animation director) and unit directed by the show’s director Shin Tosaka, the OP animation brings to mind Masashi Ishihama‘s (Horimiya director) work for Encouragement of Climb Season 2, and portions of the previous Laid-Back Camp openings. Flat animation and integrated credits are the main tenets, and the apparent lineless nature of the drawings is another noticeable trait.

Point Pictures produced the opening.

Laid-Back Camp Season 3 premiered on April 4 and is streamed on Crunchyroll and the Ani-One Asia YouTube channel. It features a different production studio and staff lineup from previous seasons.

The Houbunsha-published manga by Afro which the anime is based on began in 2015 and has 16 tankoubon volumes as of March 2024. The manga was first serialized in Manga Time Kirara Forward but is now in the COMIC FUZ app.

Yen Press describes the manga as:

Rin enjoys camping by the lakeshore, Mt. Fuji in view. Nadeshiko rides her bike to see Mt. Fuji, too. As the two eat cup noodles together, what scenery will they behold? This series will make readers fall in love with camping!

The first two Laid-Back Camp seasons premiered in 2018 and 2021. An anime movie sequel with adult versions of the cast was released in Japan in July 2022. An anime adaptation of the Room Camp spin-off premiered in 2020.
